Executive Board Meeting

January 12, 2006

 

Attendees:  Bill Amero, Mike Huff, Molly Feesler, Jim Culler, Sue Kilbarger, Deb Klemt, Bill Matthews, Jim Campolo, Madeline Amero, Angelo Forte, Jim Amato, Willard Himes, Steve Cowgill, Richard Prunty, Dan Schneider, Walt Snyder, Brenda Radabaugh, Odie Estep, Steve Caster, Charles Tackett

 

Absent:  Kevin Moody, Doug Baldwin

 

I.                    Bill Amero called the meeting to order at 7:40 P.M.

II.                 Sue Kilbarger read the minutes from the October 23, 2005 meeting. Otey Estep motioned, Deb Klemt second and the report was approved as read.

III.               Jim Culler distributed copies of the Treasurer’s Report. The report did not include all of the clinic expenses and reflected that we awarded 14, $1000 scholarships this year. Molly Feesler motioned, Bill Matthews second and the report was approved as read.

IV.              Committee Reports:

A.    Constitution – copies are to be inserted into the Clinic Packet for approval by the Organization at the General Meeting on Saturday.

B.      Communications/Publications

1)      Website – Madeline Amero was introduced as the Website Director

2)      OHSAA Report – 43’ survey will be distributed to membership at District Meetings on Saturday.

3)      Advisory Committee – the new liaison is Dwayn Warns – the committee appears to be a valuable tool for our organization.

C.     All-Ohio Tournament – will be held June 26 & 27, 2006 at Pickerington Central H. S.

D.    State Clinic – Bill Matthews distributed an outline of the Clinic Report. There was a change in presentation topics moving Teresa Wilson from Saturday to Friday in place of Mark Beggrow and Mark presented in the Saturday times for Teresa. Bill reported that Worth provided sweaters for Hall of Fame Inductees, paid Teresa Wilson’s transportation. Help was requested for Registration and to help check for name badges to eliminate free loaders. It was suggested by Bill Matthews that maybe the Organization should consider purchasing AV equipment because it is such a large expense to rent.

E.      Scholarship – nothing reported.

F.      Finance – nothing reported.

G.     All Ohio Banquet – will be held June 25, 2006 at Villa Milano

H.    State Poll – Campy reported all Poll information was in packets that had been emailed to voters.

I.        Service Awards – District Reps (Presidents) will present, Jim Campolo will provide.

J.        All Academic Team Awards – these were supposed to go to Sharon. Molly will do it this year then Sharon will take over.

K.     Hall of Fame:

1)      Induction of 2005 Inductees will take place at the Coaches Luncheon Friday.

2)      2006 Hall of Fame inductees are:

a.      Bill Matthews – (NE) – Hamilton Ross/Amherst Steele HS

b.      Carl Long – (NW) – Mohawk HS

c.       Paul Fernandez – (SW) – Ross HS

3)      Sportsmanship, Ethics, and Integrity district selections are:

a.      Jerry Kelbley – (C) – Westerville South HS (State Winner)

b.      Sheila Coffman – (SE) – Warren HS

c.       Doug Skinner – (SW) – Springfield Central Catholic HS

V.                 District Reports

1)      Central – nothing to report

2)      East – nothing to report

3)      Northeast – nothing to report

4)      Northwest – change Brenda Radabaugh  to District Rep in place of Shawn Patton

5)      Southeast – nothing to report

6)      Southwest – nothing to report

VI.              Old Business – nothing to discuss

VII.            New Business:

A.    Jim Culler motioned, Campy second that the 2nd Coaches Scholarship be named after Dave Mitchell. The motion was approved. Jim Culler requested to transfer the $500 donation Jan Mitchell gave to the Association in Dave’s memory to the Scholarship fund. Jim Campolo made a motion, Molly Feesler second and the motion carried to transfer the donation to the scholarship fund.

B.      Angelo Forte solicited help from all districts with the Fall Charity Classic for Breast Cancer Awareness September 30 & October 1, 2006 at OSU. The Central District didn’t receive any help from OSU with the concessions.

VIII.         Adjournment – Campy made the motion, Deb Klempt second and the meeting adjourned at 9:07 P.M.
