                        Team Academic Recognition

The Ohio High School Fast Pitch Softball Coaches Association will select the Academic Teams based upon the Varsity Softball Teams’ Overall GPA. In an effort to reward student-athletes that excel both in the classroom and on the softball field, the OHSFSCA would like to honor an entire team for their academic excellence. This prestigious group will represent some of the most distinguished young leaders in the state. It is a great honor for the student-athlete, the team, the coach, and the school that they represent. To be eligible for this award, the coach of the team must be a member of OHSFSCA.

For your team to be eligible for this team award, the coach must list all varsity members on the nomination form in the spaces provided. All players on the varsity team who will receive a varsity letter for the current season will be used to determine the overall GPA. The GPA that is submitted should be the players’ GPA that she attained for the 1^st semester of the school year. All GPA’s submitted should be to three decimal places (no rounding up) and should be on a 4.0 scale. Please be sure to check the form to indicate whether you have used a weighted or non-weighted scale. Ten teams (top 5 from weighted scale, top 5 non-weighted scale) will be recognized from all the entrees throughout the state of Ohio. The top winner of both the weighted and non-weighted scale will receive a plaque and a pizza party for the members of the team and coaches. The top ten teams will receive mention on our association web page. If you would like to nominate your team, please send this nomination form to the address below by May 1st. A high school administrator (principal, assistant principal, or athletic director) and guidance counselor must verify the players GPA’s and softball participation.
